Need Tuning?

In order to enjoy beautiful piano music, the piano needs to be in tune. This is not a task that anyone can do, but is performed by a trained piano technician. One of the tools he uses is a tuning fork to help him adjust the strings of each note.

You may say, what does tuning a piano have to do with our lives?  We need tuning in our lives to bring forth pleasing sounds(ways, actions) for the Lord. The same way the piano is unable to tune itself, so we too need God to tune us.
  • Firstly, we need to have our ears tuned so we may hear the Lord more clearly when He speaks to us. How will we do this? By blocking out sounds which are negative, like negative reports, evil speaking, critical words, or any other sounds that will cause us to be not tuned in to the Lord.
  • Secondly, our tongues need tuning so that we will speak only those words that are encouraging, praises for others and God, and singing joyful songs to the Lord. Speaking only those words that are wholesome, will cause us to be in tune with God. Read Psalm 19:14 (KJV) "Let the words of my mouth, and meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer."  "Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof." Proverbs 18:21 (KJV)
  • Thirdly, our eyes need to be tuned so that we may see with the eyes of Jesus. He saw needs, and had compassion on the needy. He saw sickness, and healed all, even those who were oppressed by evil. He saw a fallen humanity, and offered his life as a ransom for all who would call on His Name.  He saw with caring eyes.
  • Fourthly, our minds need to be tuned so that we think of those things that are spoken about in the book of Philippians 4:8 (KJV)  "Whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there by any praise, think on these things." Proverbs 23:7a ( KJV)  "For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he:"  Let our thinking glorify God for He sees all, and knows what is in the heart of man.
Let us allow the Master tuner to tune our lives so that we will bring forth the right sounds, and bring honor and glory to Him who created us.

We would encourage to study the Word of God; take a concordance and look up verses that pertain to, ears, hearing, speaking, seeing, and the mind.
